There is a solution to having straighter teeth without having to wear traditional braces. Known sometimes as invisible orthodontics, which offers you the choice of wearing a clear removable ‘aligner’.
This is often a favourable option for adults who don’t feel comfortable wearing ‘train track’ braces. The technology behind invisible orthodontics is highly advanced and can be used for straightening front teeth only, upper or lower teeth only or full mouth treatment, depending on your wishes, needs and expectations.
- Straighter teeth are healthier teeth
- Having an attractive smile will have a positive effect on your confidence
- Invisible braces are a long-term investment in your oral health

With SureSmile aligners, you can be confident that your treatment plan is designed and overseen by accredited orthodontic experts.
And it means you’ll get all the benefits of treatment with our state-of-the-art software. Using the latest in digital imaging technology, our clinical team can view each tooth from root to crown – allowing for super-accurate treatment planning, right down to the last millimetre.
Where traditional fixed braces rely on the gradual tightening of brackets and wires to straighten teeth, SureSmile aligners take a different approach.
They are a series of removable, transparent aligners -each brings the teeth a little closer to the perfect position. If you opt for orthodontic treatment with SureSmile, our team will begin by taking digital impressions of your smile to analyse your bite from every possible angle. Low Dose 3D xrays are used to allow detailed planning of tooth movements for safety and accuracy.
- We’ll use the digital model to begin planning the movement of each tooth with superb accuracy.
- Your custom aligners will then be produced in a laboratory from hard-wearing yet comfortable Essix® plastic.
Invisalign is the world’s largest and most successful dental company and provides the gold standard in this treatment concept. We are proud to be using their newest software with artificial intelligence that can demonstrate your potential results within minutes.
Often Invisalign, whitening treatments and cosmetic bonding are performed together to provide an excellent combination of cosmetic dentistry. This can all be planned with our DSD (digital smile design) approach.

You can straighten your teeth discreetly without braces using aligners. These are made from a soft, flexible plastic that are custom made for each individual patient.
Aligners are made from clear, soft and flexible plastic. They are custom made for each individual and fit snugly so that they can gradually straighten teeth.
Your dentist will examine your teeth and scan them so that your custom aligners can be made. Depending on how much your teeth need to be straightened, you may need up to 20 different sets of aligners that will need to be replaced every one to two weeks. In some cases, the patient may need up to 50 or more different sets of aligners. Each set will realign your teeth ever so slightly as long as you wear them for at least 20 hours each day.
There are a number of benefits to using Invisalign aligners to straighten your teeth. Firstly, they are clear so they will be less noticeable. They are also considerably more comfortable than traditional braces and they are easier to keep clean as you can take them off when you eat and when you brush your teeth. By being able to take them off you can also keep your aligners cleaner. You will also love the fact that there are no food restrictions with Invisalign aligners. Simply take them off at meal times, enjoy your food and put them on again. Of course, good dental hygiene is a must after each meal but other than that they make mealtimes easier and more comfortable.
Most patients can achieve their desired result of beautifully straight teeth within 6-12 months. As long as you follow your dentist’s instructions, you will see a definite improvement in the straightness of your teeth.
Aligners work by applying a gentle force on your teeth to move them gradually. Once you’ve gone through the process you will no longer be wearing your custom aligners and it is possible that your teeth will start moving back to their original position. For this reason, your dentist may recommend you be fitted with a dental retainer. The retainer will keep your teeth in place during the natural movement of your teeth, gums and jaw. At The Dentist, you will be advised on the amount of time and frequency you should be wearing your retainer. We offer both fixed and removable retainers.
