Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure we use at TheDentist to remedy minor defects, address edge bonding, provide composite veneers, and bond after orthodontic treatment to enhance the outcome of your teeth.

Is SmileFast Right for You?
SmileFast uses custom digital placement stents to deliver multi-tooth composite bonding or composite veneers in a single, highly predictable appointment. While it offers rapid smile makeovers with minimal tooth modification, it relies on composite resin material and has specific limitations.
Who It Isn’t Right For
Severe Misalignments or Crowding: While SmileFast can mask minor overlapping, significantly crooked teeth or complex bite issues should be straightened with orthodontics first to prevent bulky, unnatural results.
Heavy Clenching or Grinding (Bruxism): Severe overnight grinding creates heavy bite forces that can easily chip or debond composite resin. Severe grinders require ceramic alternatives or mandatory protective nightguards.
Active Decay or Gum Disease: Gums and underlying teeth must be fully healthy. Any inflammation or active decay will compromise bonding strength and aesthetics.
Expectations of Permanent, Stain-Proof Whiteness: Composite material is slightly porous and absorbs surface stains over time from red wine, coffee, or smoking.
Key Risks & Considerations
Maintenance & Polish Requirements: Composite resin requires regular professional polishing and occasional edge repairs to maintain its shine and integrity over its 3–7 year lifespan.
Pre-Treatment Shade Matching: Composite resin cannot be lightened after placement. Any professional teeth whitening must be completed before your SmileFast appointment so the resin matches your final shade.
Irreversible Surface Conditioning: Although SmileFast is minimally invasive, natural tooth enamel must be micro-etched for the resin to adhere.

Yahya uses the SmileFast system to design custom digital smile previews, allowing patients to visualise their final result before treatment begins. He then places precision composite veneers in a single appointment, combining minimally invasive techniques with exceptional aesthetic detail.
James Taylor
Dentist, GDC: 71873
Dr. James Taylor holds advanced post-graduate qualifications from the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry (BARD) and is a key driver of 3D CAD/CAM digital dentistry at the practice. James leverages SmileFast’s state-of-the-art digital software to plan direct composite smile makeovers, delivering fast, predictable, and highly natural-looking aesthetic results without extensive tooth preparation.

I found The Dentist after searching online for quite some time for a dentist I felt I could trust to fix the issues I was left with. That was very hard for me because I've had terrible experiences in the past (like that one) and felt like I wouldn't be able to find one I could trust. I loved the results on their website and decided to take a chance and booked a consultation with Dr. James Taylor.
At the consultation James was able to quickly give me options to fix what was done. It was such a relief considering my previous dentist gave me no options, so I didn't think anything could be done. During this year, James fixed all of the issues I had and now my teeth look even better than they did before which I never thought could be possible. I was absolutely thrilled with the results and I'm so happy I took the chance to come and see him with my issues.
